LAGOC’ s Cole Hoogenraad is heading to the UK this Fall. B99 Gold Irby player, Cole, will pursue his dream of playing professional soccer by attending the i2i International Soccer Academy in York, England.
The i2i International Soccer Academy offers aspiring players the exciting opportunity of studying for a Sports or Business degree, whilst focusing on their development as a soccer player.
Cole will attend York St John University, while training daily with the professional coaching staff at i2i, which includes former Manchester United Premier League winner, Jonathan Greening.
Cole attended an I.D camp in LA in May of 2017, where i2i staff watched Cole - and other hopefuls - compete for a place in their program. Cole was then asked to attend a 10-day taster trip to York to train with his potential teammates, coaches and tour the college campus.
I2i International Soccer Academy extended an offer to Cole, who verbally committed to them for 2018. Cole will fly to England later this year to join up with his new team and begin a Sports & Exercise Science degree.
LA Galaxy OC Director of Operations, Tim Woodcock, said: “Cole’s acceptance into the i2i program is an unbelievable achievement. We are very proud to have him within the club, and are delighted for him and his family”.
“We know he will represent the club as an Alumni very well in the home of soccer!”
Cole, a Senior at Crossroads Christian High School, will complete Spring and Summer with LAGOC, training under Head Coach Dave Irby, and then join his teammates in York this Fall.
Congratulations, Cole!
