Great things are happening at LA Galaxy OC and for Jack Monach of the B99 Tutton team. Jack again traveled to represent CAL SOUTH in the ODP/Pro+ Region IV Championships Jan 4-9th 2017 in Arizona as a member of the Boys 2000 Cal South ODP/Pro+ team. This is where the 13 western states put their best team forward to battle and compete for the Region IV ODP Championship and earn a place to further compete for a National ODP title. Coach Matt Tutton’s B99 team has produced six different OPD/Pro+ pool players over the past few years. Cal South’s OPD/Pro+ teams have been the dominant fixture on the ODP scene winning 76 of the last 90 tournaments. This is a true testament to how deep the talent pool is here in Southern California; and what an accomplishment it is to make the squad.

Jack in action at the ODP/Pro+ Region IV Championships

The journey for an ODP/Pro+ player is a seven-month process that restarts every year. There is no resting on past success. ODP trials for the selected/scouted pool players begin in June and for the select few, end with the 18 player squad selection, in late December. Jack’s hard work has granted him the chance to compete in the player pool for the past three years. Uniquely, and a testament to his skill and adaptability as well as great coaching, has allowed Jack to make the squad twice at two different positions (Outside Back in 2015 and Outside Midfielder 2017). “As a true winger, Jack has developed into one of the most dangerous attacking players in his age group. He has the ability to uniquely influence a game through his pace, change of direction and skill around the goal. Jack consistently creates real opportunities for teammates to score from service from wide areas and scores critical goals through his ability to take on players when cutting inside. I’m extremely pleased to have Jack representing our club and it is a testament to his commitment to our approach to development.” says Coach Matt Tutton.

LA Galaxy OC is committed to its players and helping them reach the next step to continue crafting their skill at the Collegiate level through their Premier Program. The exposure and success of Tutton’s B99 team as well as Jack’s OPD experience has given him several opportunities to potentially play in college moving forward.

LA Galaxy OC and all of it Staff and Coaches congratulate Jack Monach for his accomplishments and the ones to come.
