LA Galaxy OC are proud to announce a Semi-Professional men’s team. Following a merger with existing PSC FC, the LA Galaxy OC Men’s team will play in the United Premier Soccer League in 2018.
The news follows LAGOC’s recent announcement of a Women’s team that will play in the United Women’s Soccer League, meaning the club will now have options for both its male and female players to play beyond U18.
PSC, widely known as a soccer consultancy, have built a reputation in the US helping aspiring soccer players realize their dreams of playing professionally.
In 2017 they created PSC FC, to offer full time training and playing opportunities to players looking to break into the professional game. Their success stories include former Leicester City striker, Matty Fryatt, and Bosnia & Herzegovina international Eldin Jakupovic.
The LA Galaxy OC Men’s team will be coached by former MLS (Major League Soccer) and NASL (North American Soccer League), professional player, Guy Newman. Guy said: “This is a partnership of two forward-thinking organizations: PSC and LA Galaxy OC”.
“There are many young soccer players who are looking for a pathway to a higher level, but with limited opportunities in the States, it’s very difficult. We know that LA Galaxy OC recognize the importance of developing young players, just like PSC”.
LA Galaxy OC Director of Operations, Tim Woodcock, said: “We are very pleased to announce the LA Galaxy OC men’s team, and to be working with Tom, Guy and PSC”.
“Being able to offer our players an option to play beyond our regular club program is something we’ve been striving for, and we are delighted to be able to provide this opportunity for our players”.
The LAGOC Men’s team will compete in the UPSL Western Conference Pro Premier Division.
